Berichte der Deutschen Chemischen Gesellschaft (Reports of the German Chemical Society) was a monthly peer-reviewed journal founded in 1868 and published by the German Chemical Society from its offices in Berlin. From the 1930s onward, its volumes constitute a primary documentary record of the chemical synthesis, structural analysis, and industrial production of the azo drugs in German facilities.

The journal's standard format required authors to present empirical data, synthetic routes, and chemical characterization alongside theoretical interpretations. Authors working at Bayer AG and other German pharmaceutical manufacturers submitted results of their azo drug development programs to the journal throughout the 1930s and 1940s, reporting incremental improvements in yield, stability, and in-vitro bacterial inhibition.
